Basic First Aid CPR-A
(Previously OFA Level 1)
One-day program designed to teach participants how to respond to the most common workplace emergencies.
Intermediate First Aid CPR-A
(Previously OFA Level 2)
Two-day program that covers all content of the Basic First Aid course plus addition skills and scenarios.
Advanced First Aid
(Previously OFA Level 3)
Two-week program designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to manage complex medical emergencies in high-risk environments.
Transportation Endorsement
One-day endorsement course for Basic (Level 1) or Intermediate (Level 2) certificate holders. Participants learn skills and knowledge to safely transport injured workers to medical aid.
New first aid requirements come into effect November 1, 2024
Amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation relating to occupational first aid will take effect November 1, 2024. To assist employers in preparing to implement these new requirements, the following resources are available:

- Workplace hazard ratings
Employers are responsible for first aid in the workplace. To determine the first aid needs of your workplace, first you’ll need to do an assessment. Then, you can review the findings and take necessary steps to put proper first aid procedures in place.
Red Cross Courses
Basic First Aid CPR-C
(previously Emergency First Aid)
Participants learn how to manage the most common emergencies both at home and at work.
Includes CPR-C.
Intermediate First Aid CPR-C
(previously Standard First Aid)
Participants learn the contents of the EFA course plus additional skills and scenarios.
Includes CPR-C.
CPR-C / AED
Participants learn how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. Includes basic level single-person rescue CPR and AED skills for adults, children and infants.
BLS with Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy
An advanced CPR program designed for the Health Care Professionals working in a team environment. Participants learn advanced skills including two-peron CPR & AED, oxygen delivery, and bag valve mask use.
New Canadian Red Cross course names introduced June 22, 2026
The Canadian Red Cross recently introduced revised names for their Emergency (Basic) and Standard (Intermediate) First Aid courses. Provincial and territorial regulators have started to adopt the Basic and Intermediate First Aid names exclusively to align with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Standard Z1210. These names will ensure consistency and compliance nationally.
There are no changes to course content at this time. Revisions introduced in Fall 2025 remain compliant with all current legislative requirements, including all provincial and territorial occupational health and safety standards
Additional Programs Offered
ATV Rider Course
A one-day course with participants progressing through basic techniques to accomplish riding with confidence in a safe and controlled manner. Rentals available of ATVs and helmets if needed.
UTV Rider Course
A one-day course starting with basic skills and then adding on more driving techniques in a safe and controlled manner. Rentals available of UTVs and helmets if needed.
S100 Fire Suppression
A two-day course provideing basic knowledge of wildland fire suppression and wild fire behaviour. Participants practice with equipment used in BC to effectively and safely respond to wildfires.
H2S Alive Course
A one-day program designed to educate workers on safe practices in environments where hydrogen sulfide (H2S) may be present.
